Lona Baker-MarrelleLona Baker-Harrelle has been our Hospital Administrator since 2008 and a co-owner of All Friends Animal Hospital since July of 2009. She first started with the hospital in 1998 and has a Bachelor of Arts in Business.

"This hospital is my family," she says. "I started here at age sixteen and have grown up with the business and have fulfilled a dream by becoming a co-owner of the practice."

Lona's pets include a mixed breed dog named Fritz, an English Bulldog named Frank, and a fish named Rainbow. She lives at home with her husband Mike and two daughters Emma and Ellie. Her interests include gardening, taking her dog to Bluff Point, golfing and kayaking, and spending time with her family.

Tara BollesTara Bolles is our Technician Team Leader and Client Liaison and has been co-owner of All Friends Animal Hospital since 2009, though she started her career here in 1998. She began her career in animal care in 1991 as the Animal Control Officer for the Town of Preston.

Saying she has a strong belief in customer service and community involvement, Tara adds, "I have enjoyed watching this business grow and flourish. I am proud of the progressive, community involved practice we have become."

At home, she has a Cane Corso named Brinks and a Greyhound named Annie. Tara and her husband Todd are generally busy raising their twin daughters, Ava and Brooke, in Preston, Connecticut, where she and her husband were raised. Additionally, she is a Tim McGraw fanatic and loves country music and spending time with her family and friends.

Jean KobelskiOffice Manager Jean Kobelski has been with All Friends Animal Hospital since January of 2003. In addition to her years of experience she has an Associates degree in Liberal Arts from Roger Williams University, and studied Psychology at Syracuse University and Business at the New London School of Business.

"I'm proud to be part of such a well respected and well known animal hospital," she says. "Our staff is knowledgeable, caring and hardworking, but the best part is that we all truly enjoy working with each other."

Jean resides in Preston with her two daughters, Kendall and Alexandra, their pugs Carol and Olive and their cats Henry and Rocky.

Holly Hawkins-BourneHolly Hawkins-Bourne has been a Veterinary Technician with All Friends Animal Hospital since 2008, but began her career in companion animal care in 2000. In addition to her years of animal care experience she as an Associate's degree in Web Design and New Media.

Holly is very good at working with challenging and aggressive cats—she says she has one herself—and enjoys helping new pet owners, especially those that have adopted a pet in need. "I work with a fantastic and talented bunch of people," she says of her time with us.

Her pets include a Greyhound named Kooky and three cats named Mr. Moo, Anakin, and Opaltini. Holly's interests include watching scary movies, listening to music, reading, art, playing games, learning, and relaxing on her deck with her greyhound.

Julie KingJulie King is a Certified veterinary Technician who has been with the All Friends Family since 2007. In addition to her years of experience, Julie has also received a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Julie has a special interest in pain management, anesthesia and feline behavior.

"I wake up in the morning happy to come to work", she says. "Our patients and clients are great and it is an amazing staff to work with."

Julie has a wonderful husband, Dan, and together they have a son, Benjamin. Her interests include spending time with her family, fostering cats and kittens, reading, going to the beach, and watching movies. She has two cats at home, a Siamese names Moosie, and an Abyssinian named Abby. She would love to one day open a housing facility for senior kitties.

Alex SnowAlex Snow is a Veterinary Technician who has been with All Friends Animal Hospital since May of 2011. He graduated magna cum laude from University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.

"I enjoy working at this veterinary hospital because of the great atmosphere; we are almost like one big family," he says. "Everyone in this hospital truly cares about every patient that walks through the door."

Alex lives in Preston with his girlfriend Katy and their two cats, Mesha and Lucifur. He likes to spend time playing guitar, reading comics and playing video games.

Rebecca TavaresRebecca Clifford is a Veterinary Technician who has been a member of the All Friends Animal Hospital staff since February of 2004 and began her career in pet care in 2000.

"I like working with animals because it is so rewarding," Rebecca says. "Sometimes just one pet coming in and being excited to see me, even though they are at the vet, will make my day," Rebecca says. "These guys and gals are my family. I love every last one of them and thank god every day for them." Her special interests are in geriatric pets, nutrition and behavior.

Rebecca has a Boston Terrier named Whittaker and two cats named Romeo and Samuel Adam. She is also an avid horse person and loves to be around them, making time to be at the barn whenever she can. She spends her free time with her new husband, and is very involved with her church family. She also loves to read, listen to music and spend time with her family.

Lauren ThalLauren Thal is a Veterinary Technician who has been with our hospital since January of 2016, but began her career in companion animal care 14 years prior. With more than a decade of clinical experience, Lauren maintains "an insatiable desire to learn" and is currently enrolled in Middlesex Community College's Sonography/Radiology program. She previously studied Animal Science at the University of Connecticut.

Lauren enjoys interacting with our patients and being part of a team that provides the highest standard of care. "All Friends Animal Hospital has been an exceptionally warm, welcoming group of compassionate people who provide spectacular care," she says.

Her pets include a rescue Lab-Beagle mix named Charlotte and a cat named Jones. She and Charlotte spend their time together in the woods, hiking and camping, or gardening (Charlotte does the digging and Lauren does the planting). A lover of the arts, Lauren also paints, draws and supports local music and artists.

Gabrielle PensisGabrielle Pensis has been a Certified Veterinary Technician with All Friends Animal Hospital since 2015.

She has four pets of her own, a Pit Bull named Gemma and three cats, Princess, Jax and Bellatrix. Her hobbies include photography, reading, and traveling.

Rosemarie CartierRosemarie Cartier has been a Veterinary Technician with our hospital since June of 2015, but began her career in companion animal care two decades ago. Although she has worked at other area practices, she says the care, compassion and knowledge All Friends Animal Hospital

shows its patients is "like no other."

"The doctors and staff go above and beyond to treat patients like their own," she says.

Rosemarie's pets include two dogs, Bogie and Loki, and four cats, Simon, Sophie and Sandy. Her free time is enhanced by painting pet portraits, hiking, gardening, and spending time at the beach.

Heather RorkeHeather Rorke is a Certified Veterinary Technician who has been with our hospital since 2014 and holds a Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science with a minor in Microbiology. She gets the most satisfaction from her job by "being a voice for those who don't speak our language" and helping around the hospital in any way she can.

With more than 25 years of experience in the animal care field, Heather also owns a wildlife education business that provides hands-on encounters with exotic and wild animals to toddlers and seniors. "I have many years of experience working with exotic animals, such as birds and reptiles, as well as lots of wildlife and dogs and cats in a variety of different places," she says of her diverse veterinary background.

Heather is married with three young children and enjoys spending time with them, going to the beach, photography and reading. The family's many animals include two Akitas, eight cats, nine tortoises, five parrots, five lizards, three snakes, three chinchillas, three raccoons, two ferrets, and a fox, hedgehog, rabbit, and frog.

Sarah TurnerSarah Turner has been a Veterinary Technician with our hospital since the summer of 2015 and holds a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science from the University of Vermont. Her past experience includes three years as a veterinary technician at a practice in Vermont and another three years at a dog daycare and boarding facility.

Sarah shares her home with a cat named Gibbs, a ball python named Coral and three chickens, Penelope, Rupert and Khaleesi. She will soon add ten tiny chicks to her flock. In her free time, she enjoys playing guitar, drawing, painting, doing yoga, cooking and camping.

Nancy CartwrightNancy Cartwright has been a Veterinary Technician with All Friends Animal Hospital since 2014 and holds and Associate's degree in Animal Care. With more than 23 years of experience in the animal care field, Nancy has been a pet store, pet resort and dog daycare manager. She also owns a dog daycare and training facility, is an obedience trainer, Canine Good Citizen evaluator and co-founder of an area dog rescue.

"This clinic is very family oriented, people are treated with respect," she says. "Clients cares and concerns are taken to heart and all of the doctors make sure their pets receive the best possible care."

Her pets include two dogs, Scrappy and Saphyre, and four cats, Olaf, Koji, Zeta and Ivory. When she's not at the hospital or working with her dog rescue, Nancy can be found spending time with her family or attending sporting events.

Alyssa CochranAlyssa Cochran joined the veterinary technician team at All Friends Animal Hospital in September 2016. Her responsibilities include assisting the hospital's veterinarians, drawing blood for various tests and nail trims. She brings a special talent for bonding with animals to the hospital team, and thoroughly enjoys puppy and kitten exams.

She is currently enrolled at Penn Foster College where she is pursuing a bachelor degree in veterinary science. She was previously employed as a veterinary receptionist and manager of a pet grooming shop.

"I love the sense of community at All Friends and I love that every staff member here is truly dedicated to helping our pets and our clients."

At home, she has a 5-year-old pit bull named Norah Jones. She also is a pet sitter. Outside of work, Alyssa enjoys yoga, hiking and reading.

Leigh Coughlin"Thank you for choosing All Friends Animal Hospital, my name is Leigh Metz, how may I help you?" - That's something Leigh Metz, Customer Care Specialist, says many times a day. She's been happily employed at All Friends Animal Hospital since 2006, and she savors each moment she gets to spend with her amazing co-workers and our clients, whether they have two legs or four. When asked about why she enjoys her job, Leigh says she "...loves being able to speak for for those who can't speak for themselves."

"It's a great feeling when you can wake up each morning and honestly enjoy going to your job because it's your second family. Life is good," Leigh says.

Her pets include Molly, a 7-year-old Golden Retriever who was rescued, and two adorable cats named Mickey and Melvin. She resides in Norwich, CT with her husband Gary and thee children Billy, Nicole and Cora. Her favorite hobbies are dancing, singing (at the front desk), hiking and camping, and spending long, lazy days at the beach.

Joanne WarrenJoanne Warren has been a Receptionist at All Friends Animal Hospital since 2007 and began working in the veterinary field in 2001.

"Our clinic is a family-oriented company and will provide you with quality care for you and your furry family member," she says this is one of the reasons why she enjoys working here. At home, Joanne is married with two daughters and has a German Shepherd named Kody and a Yorkie named Buddy. Her interests include camping walks on the beach and spending time with family poolside.

CarolannAs one of our Receptionists, Carolann Carrignan is extremely knowledgeable and has been in the veterinary field since 1996 when she first worked for us, and rejoined our staff in March of 2012. "The staff makes coming to work every day enjoyable," she said.

Carolann and her husband, Bryan, have been Code of Ethics breeders of multiple AKC Champion Rottweilers for over 20 years. She exhibits her dogs in AKC conformation, Obedience and Rally. She is a member of the American Rottweiler Club and the St Huberts Kennel Club. When not at work, Carolann stays very busy attending dog shows, Training her dogs and spending time with her current 11 Rottweilers. "There never seems to be enough hours in the day, " she said.
